The Orléans National Forest
The familiar sound of hunting horns mingles with the wind which loses itself it the tips of the tall oaks and Scots pines. Made up of three massifs - Orléans, Ingrammes and Lorris - its surface area of 30 000 hectares makes it the largest national forest in France. Renowned for its game stocks, notably deer, and its plant varieties, the forest also features a large number of ponds - paradise for birds like the osprey.
